New to Go?
Open Learn to Play. The dojo teaches the whole game on the board in short lessons, then coaches you through a real game against the AI.
How does a game end?
When neither side can gain anything, both players pass. Review opens with the stones that look dead already crossed out. Tap Done to count, or tap a group to change its mark. Against the AI, if you mark one of its living groups, it sends back a correction instead of playing on. If you disagree, Resume Play settles it on the board.
The who's-ahead meter
The bar under the score estimates who is leading. Tap it to see the territory each side can expect. It is an estimate, not a rule; turn it off in Settings › Board.
Daily duel and streaks
Each day sets up a small board halfway through a game: 5 × 5 early in the week, 7 × 7 at the weekend. Play it out against the AI and finish ahead after the komi shown at the top. Stuck? "Show a good move" in the menu marks one, though the day then won't earn the first-try stamp. Winning on the day builds your streak. Missed a day? Play it from Past puzzles in the puzzle menu; it fills the week but doesn't count toward the streak. Reminders are optional, in Settings › Daily puzzle.
Online play and achievements
Play Online uses Game Center, and so do achievements and the streak leaderboard (Settings › Game Center). DOTS keeps what you earn on your device and sends it once you sign in. If DOTS can't sign in, sign in to Game Center in the iOS Settings app.
Starting over
Settings › Reset clears lesson progress or preferences. Your saved games and history are kept.
